The Origin

Julia Greer and Emma Miller started The Hearth in 2016 with a mission statement and a play they wanted to produce, For Annie by Beth Hyland. Since then, they have collaborated on many plays as actor and director respectively including Athena by Gracie Gardner, The Commons by Lily Akerman, and brainsmash by Sophie Weisskoff. They have shepherded countless other plays through conversations, workshops, readings and productions over the years and grown the company together. Always beginning with the question to the writer…what do you need to take your play to the next level?
